WHY SALT MARSH RIVER
a meandering river, especially a briny, brackish estuarine one, makes its way to the sea in u-shaped bends perpendicular to its overall flow. it takes the slow route, nothing direct about it. the bends or loops, the oxbows, are a critical element to an estuary's ability to scrub water of toxins and pollutants and support young marine life. it's the source of the table's form, a steel u-frame with 2x salvaged stock running perpendicular to overall flow

this table can function as a desk, as an entry console, as a bench, as a buffet. let us know dimensions or email with questions. we'd love to make it a perfect fit for your space

BIRDLOFT ETHOS OF GREEN
All birdloft reclaimed materials are sustainably harvested in a big-hearted, biodiesel-breathing compact pickup truck. This is just one aspect of our ongoing efforts to be responsibly awesome.

SOURCING
Sourced steel is estimated at 89.5% recycled content. All wood is reclaimed, meaning it has been salvaged for re-use from barns, warehouses and other industrial agrarian buildings in Seattle, Tacoma and the Puget Sound environs. Wood patina varies with each piece of furniture, but is similar in tone, mineral stain, wear and sheen.

CRAFT
birdloft prides itself on its exceptional craft. Every piece is made with meticulous attention to detail and knowledge of how wood moves and breathes.

FINISH
Steel is hot rolled factory black finished with a clear matte enamel. Wood is finished with a locally produced tung oil and beeswax.
